Jordi Cirera (Barcelona, 1963) graduated from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Barcelona) with a B.S in Computer Engineering. He also obtained a master’s degree in Information Technology Management at La Salle School of Engineering, Ramon Llull University, Barcelona.
In the 27th year of his career at the Institut Municipal d’Informàtica de Barcelona (ICT department of the Barcelona City Council) he has performed several analysis and programming tasks, he has been ICT responsible for the Municipal Police and Fire Department and Chief of Operations among others. Nowadays, he is a Project Leader within the Smart City projects portfolio, and he has participated in the conceptualization of the Smart Cities ICT Architecture. He is also leading the Sensor Platform development project and the creation of Sentilo, a community that fosters the use and evolution of Barcelona’s Sensor Platform by other cities and companies.
He is also involved in the iCity project as a Project Coordinator. The iCity project, that is part of the CIP framework programme, aims at making a step forward in the co-creation of public interest services by third parties using public ICT systems.
